The gorgeous province of Perugia shows many faces. The province is part of the Umbria region, bordering the Marches region towards the North and East, Lazio and Terni towards the South and Tuscany towards the West. The most important cities of the province of Perugia are Perugia, the capital of Umbria, Assisi, Foligno, Citta di Castello and Gubbio. In the northeast of the province, some kilometres west of Perugia, you will find the Trasimeno Lake, one of the larges lakes in Italy and an experience you cannot compare to anything else. If you do not have much time, we recommend at least a walk around the lake.

The large cities by the Trasimeno Lake are Castiglione del Lago in the West, Passignano sul Trasimeno in the North and Monte del Lago in the East. The highest mountain in the Perugia province is Monte Cucco, bordering the Apennines towards the East and dominating the landscape of the Gubbio region.

The dense beech forests and wide steppes, where you will still find wild horse flocks, as well as the deep ravines and wide valleys are every hang glider’s, hiker’s and mountain biker’s dream. The province of Perugia will show you the beauty of central Italy.
