who want to spend unforgettable days together on a really beautiful location. You can hike from the property directly into the mountains or walk down into the small town of Sansepolcro, enjoying the hustle and bustle with a cup of cappuccino in a local cafe. Other great spots to visit are the medieval villages of Anghiari, Citerna and Caprese Michelangelo as well as the towns of Arezzo and Citta di Castello.
The “Casentino” is, amid the Tuscan valleys, the most isolated and most hemmed in. Its position has enabled it to maintain, more than any other part, its traditions and its characteristics: an abundance of agricultural crops, thick woods and forests and meadows on the slopes of mountains. Within this frame which is still in a natural uncontaminated state there is a strong and mystical influence exerted over places such as the convent at Verna and the hermitage of Camaldoli.
However the Casentino is also the region of small towns, at the same time isolated and tranquil but also full of history and art; Arezzo, famous for its ancient and renowned goldsmiths, provides its visitors with many jewels. Piazza Grande is one of the most beautiful squares in Tuscany, which in June and September hosts the “Giostra del Saracino” (joust in Medieval costume) and where on the first Sunday of each month there is the Arezzo antiques fair.
Etruscan walls surround Cortona which dominates the Chiana valley while overlooking Lake Trasimeno. Its steep urban layout, dominated by its sandstone walls, gives it its fascination factor.
